Quotation preparation

Small field cultivator supplier matching

A small frame must fit the tractor and the field task. Meadow Source Sourcing helps turn an approximate equipment description into a written factory inquiry, with exceptions visible before offers are compared.

Small cultivator hitch and frame review

Two workstreams keep the request usable

Equipment and interface scope

Collect working width, intended depth, hitch type and tractor engine power in hp or kW. For a three-point hitch, request the lifting-capacity basis and implement weight, including finishing attachments. For a pull-type implement, ask about drawbar load and hydraulic connections. PTO horsepower is not a substitute for draft suitability; a passive cultivator may have no PTO requirement.

Photos help identify the current setup, but dimensions and supplier drawings settle compatibility. Keep unknown measurements marked for confirmation.

Commercial and delivery scope

Ask factories to state quantity, currency, unit basis, MOQ, packing, quote validity and lead-time start condition. Separate equipment, sweep kits, replacement bearings and freight so an omitted item does not look like a price advantage.

Record the US delivery destination and seasonal need date. Installation, unloading, customs responsibilities and inspection arrangements need explicit agreement; a desired planting window is a request, not an accepted delivery promise.

Questions that change the comparison

Does a lower price justify changing the hitch?

A lower quoted amount may require an adapter or a different tractor. Retain the original hitch category and mounting geometry in the baseline offer, then ask for adapters, weight effects and additional costs as a separate alternative. Buyer confirmation is needed before changing the scope.

How do we approach MOQ and samples?

Request MOQ by complete implement and by parts line. A sweep sample can help verify mounting dimensions and material documentation; it does not establish whole-machine performance. Ask for sample cost, carriage, evaluation steps and whether the production version matches the submitted drawing.

How does the budget affect supplier selection?

Premium preferences may emphasize documented materials and support; budget preferences may prioritize initial cost and standard configurations. Compare finish, replacement-part availability and exclusions beside price. These are buyer preferences, not ratings we have verified for a supplier.

Replace ambiguous requests with checkable ones

Unresolved brief

“Small cultivator for a farm” leaves soil, hitch and working width open. One factory may quote a basic frame while another includes a harrow. Those offers cannot support a clear purchase decision.

Comparable brief

Specify tractor compatibility, required width, sweep arrangement, finishing attachment and spare kit. Request a labeled drawing and a line for each exclusion. Then compare the same quantity and destination cost basis.

Our role is independent coordination; factories remain responsible for their proposed equipment and quoted claims. Review the inquiry catalog or the procurement checklist while preparing the request.

Send the small-frame requirement for review

Describe crop, soil, site size, power, attachment fit and desired date. We will use the written scope to seek factory responses; capability and final terms remain subject to confirmation.
